About SAGE
Support. Advocacy. Guidance. Empowerment.
I am Zenni Nicole. My family and I did not build SAGE because caregiving looked like a good business. We built it because caregiving became our actual life.
We care for my 83 year old mother at home through advanced dementia and hospice. I am her daughter, her guardian, and her advocate. I am the one answering the phone, tracking the medicine, watching for changes, asking the questions, handling the paperwork, and still trying to remember that I am a whole person on my own.
I know what it feels like when every single person asks how she is doing and not one of them asks how you are doing. That is why this exists.
- Support
- Advocacy
- Guidance
- Empowerment
And the promise underneath the name, for every caregiver who walks in: to see you, assist you, guide you, and leave you stronger. Seen. Assisted. Guided. Empowered. That is not a second definition. It is what the first one is for.
Everything on these shelves came out of lived experience. The guides help you understand what is happening and what to do next. The journals give you somewhere to put the things you cannot say out loud. The cheat sheets make the important information easy to find on the days your mind is already carrying too much.
SAGE was built with Black caregivers and families at the center, because so many of us are expected to step in, figure it out, carry it quietly, and keep going. Every caregiver deserves honest information, real support, dignity, rest, and care of their own.
What you will not find here
No fake positivity. No pressure to call yourself strong while you are running on four hours of sleep. Nobody telling you to practice self care in a voice that has never done this.
We see you. You take care of everybody else. This is here to help take care of you.
